Such are the ties that bind us 

Brought together by blood 

Loving each other just a plus

Together surviving life’s floods

Sometimes in family emotions run deep

And we don’t always get along

But family is what you want to keep

Them right or be them wrong

Knowing each other and loving still 

Is what a family must do

For with kinship life gets real

Honest, forthright and true

So, even though you may not like them

Love your family with your all

Each member a true gem

In need, you can always call

Count on your family…

Thoughts

My constant companion, ever on my mind 

What would I do without you? 

Together forever through ties that bind 

Love, deep, fierce, and true 

When you’re absent, I miss you

As if  years since you’ve been gone

But when I feel sad and blue

I imagine us together under the sun

My thoughts always drift back to you

Ever clinging to your love

For I know you to be true

Were you sent from heaven above?

New World

The world she is a changing 

Even when we don’t want her to 

Our lives ever rearranging 

How will we ever get through? 

Maybe we need to revamp our attitude 

Maybe we need to believe 

Maybe we need to rethink our platitude 

Our goals ever to achieve 

Fads  come, and they go 

It’s not hip to do that now

Watch out above and watch out below

Such things we never thought we would allow

Who takes the moral high ground these days?

Who just ebbs with the flow

Life continues to change in so many ways

Off to the races, we go

But as I said before, and I’ll say again

The world she is new and revised

What was once considered a sin?

Is now totally advertised…

The day is here, the time is now 

Fake  it till you make it girl 

Don’t let nerves throw you off somehow

Allow your light to shine throughout the world

The curtains are drawn, the world, your stage 

You prepared your whole life for this

Mind no longer trapped in a cage

The angels have sent you a kiss

So sing your heart out, Canary girl

Let your voice drift up to the stars

Mind all a flutter, as you face the world

No longer singing in smoke filled bars

Now, years have gone by, they all love you

As pure as heaven is true

Coffee in my favorite cup 

Sitting here, thinking of you 

Feeling lonely, keeping my chin up

I know this we will get through 

It’s not just wishful thinking 

It’s not just yearning for more 

It’s two souls truly linking 

Wanting each other secure 

Obstacles come, and they go 

Experience helps a lot 

As long as positive remains the flow

The more strength that you’ve got

Morning Bliss

It’s time to rise and shine

The dawn of a bright new day 

Thanking God for a  life divine 

Being grateful in every way 

Knowing that every step you take 

Is one closer to who you really are 

Practice meditation and/or 

 prayer, for goodness sake 

Both will take you far 

Negative thoughts come spiraling through 

Those you don’t want to harbor 

For within you is  a life anew

Make positivity be your armor

Once you learn to live this way

Morning bliss come so fast

Ride the positivity train today

And the negatives will not last

My Life

For the life of me, I can’t tell 

Which way my path is going to go 

I don’t live my life in a shell 

But they’re so much I still don’t know 

I guess learning every day is a good thing 

Especially if you have an open mind 

Every time you can, let your heart sing 

And always, always be kind 

Discover more about who you are 

Really explore what you enjoy

Sometimes the path seems strange and bizarre 

And you find things that constantly annoy 

But at the end of the day, my friend 

This is your life, your very own

Until that day in the bitter end 

Make it the best life you could have known
