The Wood Carver

The Wood Carver

I met a man who carves
on wood, he works magic
with his hands

It's amazing how life's
path twists and turns,
even when you've made
other plans

Always wish on your
lucky star because you
just never know

What dreams may still
come true, if you tend
the seeds ye sow

So time will tell,
yes that's what
we say, as my
interest grows

Will the carver
find a place
in my heart?

Let's see how the story goes...

Shut Down

Shut Down

He left without taking
a single step - he just
closed his "door" and
completely shut out
the world, leaving me
behind in wonder of
what I thought was so
much more

All the smiles are fading away
as reality sets in
and his closed door
is a constant reminder
that he won't let
"anyone" in....

My heart is sad
for his woe
but until his "lonely" stops,
forward we will never go
stuck in time like an unwound clock...

I miss you, Woodchopper

Gentle Warrior

Gentle Warrior

My gentle warrior
so strong and brave
your heart was made of steel
I tried, yet could not reach you
it was an endless climb, all uphill

Sometimes I look back
and remember your face,
your gentle touch,
your warm embrace
and my heart breaks
all over again
because I know
what could have been

Your walls so thick,
I could never break through
no matter how much I tried,
I could not reach your rebel heart
or grasp how you felt deep inside

Maybe it was karma, kismet or fate
that decided this was not right,
whatever the reason I know not,
but alas, I gave up the fight

Family

Family

Family roots run deep,
children become their
elders as time marches
on, knowing full well
that when one generation
is gone, another generation
is there to take it's place,
to carry on traditions, to
fulfill hopes and dreams

And in generation after
generation, smiles are
repeated as she looks
like her grandmother
or he reminds everyone
of his favorite uncle,
the way he smiles
or the way she holds her
hands

Without realization of it,
perhaps, you have become
them, the elders,
in certain ways
and your children
will one day be
the ones carrying
on the family traditions

May it always be
that our family
circle grows
with love mountains
high and patience
in abundance, with
joy a sea full and
happiness as big
as the night sky

I love you, my family
past, present
and future
for generations,
forevermore

Witch, Hazel

Witch, Hazel

Her hair flows like midnight
her eyes glow like the sun
and once she's placed her gaze
on you, you just might come undone

When she starts to work her
magick and she begins her chants
you will believe in all she says,
be it future, past or romance

But if you unkindly cross her
or fail to follow "harm none"
she may just shrink you down to size
and show you how harm's really done

She would never hurt you,
oh no, that's not her stride
she'll simply lift the mirror's veil
to show you the "you" inside

What We Learn is Who We Are

What We Learn
is Who We Are

Dusty old room,
memories written
on each and every
corner, like tiny
videos of life, captured
moment by moment

Take the time to stop,
stop and smile, remember,
listen and learn, for this
is living, because
our memories help
shape us into
who we are in the present
and if we truly learn
from those experiences
(good or bad), they will
help shape us into the
lightest soul within our
capability

I'm not telling you
to live in the past
OH NO - just visit
it through memories'
door, from time to
time...

The fast lane is for
those who really
are afraid to live...

Slow down, inhale
your days, exhale
your memories
and grow, shine,
love, mostly, dear ones,
love, for that is what
we were made for

Wisdom on Wings

Wisdom on Wings

Gentle spirit,
wings of light,
guide me on
this starry night

Open up my
eyes to see
past the veil
of mystery

Teach me with
your wise old eyes
to soar the mind
past hate and lies

Guide me to show
others this, so they too
will know self bliss

And when the world
can understand,
your touch will
have reached
all man
