Anger Within

Anger Within

His anger sparks the darkness
as he lies alone in bed
his anger turning outward
blaming anyone, everyone, instead

Inner turmoil eats away
and bitterness tastes sweet
he’ll swallow his pride for another day
and never admit defeat

Is it her he really cares for now
or just to prove his worth?
to let her go, he won’t "allow"
he’ll move the heavens and the Earth

What obscurity holds this man
and shakes him to the core?
…anger, fear and insecurity
always knocking at his door

Closing the Dream Door

Closing the Dream Door

Actions speak what words cannot say
in this circle of endless waiting
and as impatience takes hold
the door is closing
on a dream, at last…

Daydreams

Daydreams

A field of red clover
reaching up toward the sky
A lazy boat ride
swans drifting nearby
A stroll by the stream
and a picnic there too
A walk in the meadow
til the day is near through
All of these things,
I "dream them" with you…

Bridging Time

Bridging Time

Night’s song, soft and low,
bliss waits in open arms

Morning dew gently falls,
she returns to him once more

Their love has opened
time’s locked door
and brought her close again

To soothe her lover’s broken heart
as love bridged time for him

In dreams she touches
more than soul, in reality,
is she here?

Nirvana’s call is
her beating heart
he needs to
have her near…
