Her Best Friend

Her Best Friend
Questioning eyes
meet her gaze,
as his actions
and words
continue to amaze

There she sits
with a smile on
her face because
her heart has found
a happy “place”

He makes her
laugh when
he touches
her “there”

His kisses
tell her how
much he does care

She loves it when
he sings a made
up song

And sometime
s they dance and
sway all night long
And when he
breaks out that
old guitar and
begins to strum
real slow

She realizes just
how special he is,
this man who makes
her “glow”

He is her lover,
her best friend,
her guy

The one who holds
her under a dark
night’s sky

Tender hands
caress her as
his eyes speak
to her soul

And time will
tell how this
book ends, as
contentment
for both
is the ultimate
goal

Drifting Dandelion

Drifting Dandelion
This morning
the world looks
a little different

Perhaps I will be
the only one to
notice – why –
because it’s
my eyes, my
perception
that is seeing
things a
bit differently

It’s like when
a dandelion
blows in the wind,
you see the tiny
bits of it being
carried away with
the wind and
when the last
one is gone,
blown away,
you find yourself
a little sad to see
it go, but the
truth is, you
know it’s meant
to be, carried on,
to float in the
wind and find itself
in another place, a
better place…

So be the dandelion,
float and drift as
life takes you and when
it is time to settle, you
will know and you
will bloom, spectacularly

What If

What If
Romantic notions
filed away, collecting
dust in a box on the
very top shelf

Unopened letters
returned in the mail,
leaves me to wonder
“what if”

A life of solitude
not purposely
chosen, yet one
I find myself
living, nonetheless

And the years
sweep by,
season after season and
I still tend to wonder
“what if”

I Remember

I Remember
Into the depths
of my memory,
in my mind’s
eye, I can still
see - playing
leap frog and
riding a horsey
on daddy’s knee

Gone now for
a while, yet
memories still
cause a smile

Time fades the sad,
all things good and
all things bad…

In the depths of
my memory, my
soul is pure and
my mind is free

And as I grow
in life’s time
table, I know I will always
be able to
come back
to memories
and feel the
love that
still surrounds
me from those
now riding
the stars above

Musings of a MoonAngel

Musings of a MoonAngel
Change
A bend in the road is not
the end of the road,
unless you fail to make the turn.
Sometimes change is scary and
you aren’t sure whether to make
that turn or “turn back” but once you
become truly aware that life is
about change, embrace it and move
forward, you may find yourself happier
than you ever realized that you could be.

Courage
We walk in hope of future,
we dance in memories, we live for
better times. The courage comes
from within and when you realize
that you can be the person you
want to be, when you find that
inner strength, pull that courage
from deep within your soul,
when you do that, you will
start to feel the shift,
you will arrive at the knowledge of
your own self worth and nothing
and no one can take that away from you.

Walls

Walls
I’d love to fall
in love with you,
yet obstacles
prevent me
from letting
down those
walls I seem
to have erected

Someone once said
“I’ll redesign your
walls and add a
window so that
you can see me
and begin to
trust again

Time is such a
wise teacher,
we only have
to listen and
learn from
Old Father
Time and
King Lessons

Searching

Searching
May it never be said
that chivalry is dead

By honor be bound
from the day that
you’re “found”

I know you are
out there,
wandering
somewhere

Are you searching
for me whilst I’m
searching for thee?

Time will tell, as
the path I walk,
be it narrow or
stoney, takes me
exactly where
I’m destined to be

Heart's Desire

Heart’s Desire
I want to count
the stars with you;
I want to ride the moon

A lazy day by the lake,
no, wait, the entire
month of June

I want to cheer my
team with you
on a chilly autumn day

Touch you as we
dance real close,
just an easy
intimate “sway”

I want to roast
marshmallows
on an open fire

And kiss you
for the rest of
my life, yes,
that is my
heart’s desire

Taking Chances

Taking Chances
Taking chances
life's full of dances,
be them fast or slow

Don't wait on happy
make your own, as
on life's path you go

Smile as often as you can
and others will smile with you

Speak good of others or
say nothing at all and
happy will always shine through

Take chances, live now
who knows what tomorrow
holds, anyhow?
