Queen of Foul

Queen of Foul

There once was a woman
I thought a true friend,
expected our sisterhood to last
through thick and thin

But one summer day
when chickens roamed,
I saw deep inside her soul,
as her lips spouted forth words
our friendship could not hold

In front of her own, she screamed
her true feelings of me spilled out,
was it resentment at last redeemed?

Anger met anger as our words spewed,
the argument made no sense!
What a shame where there was once a neighbor soon I'll see a fence

But I honestly suspect
the reason of our parting
is my demand for respect

A test perhaps,
one that made my heart sore
knowing envy and bitterness
was disguised next door
