Time

Time
As the clock ticks
and the ball drops,
turning into another year,
kisses are given,
resolutions made,
hopes and dreams renewed

Time marches on, it has a way
of teaching us lessons,
while giving us memories,
both fond and ones that we
sometimes wish we could forget

Time reflects as lines on our faces,
gray in our hair and perhaps we are
even a bit shorter and slower

For many of us, time shows
us what truly matters and
that can never be a bad thing

I wonder sometimes, if we
could turn back time, would
we really do things differently?
Many would answer yes
without hesitation, while others
come to realize that the path
we walk, while sometimes
stony and curvy, is the one
we've chosen, be it wisely or not

I think the true definition of time
is taking life moment by moment,
living it fully, being aware of the
simple joys and pleasures
and by being thankful and grateful

Most importantly, time defines who
you are and always being yourself
is who you should truly strive to be

Never hesitating to love deeply,
even if it means you might get hurt,
for there is no greater gift that someone
can give you than their time, dedicated
to you, spent with you, even thinking
about you, time is precious and giving
it to another is a gift I hope you treasure

Time marches on, time is on our side,
for everything there is a time and a place…

Is it the right time for you to do this
or the wrong time for you to do that?

Take your time if you like,
but grasp each moment,
for we truly never know
how much time we really have

Dreamscape

Dreamscape
Amid the noise
I hasten away
into my inner
cave, blocking
out the fishwives’
ever droning woes

I welcome in the light
of day and bow to
angel’s soaring and
when their harps
begin to strum,
I know my time is near

I look into that golden
glow, that some simply
call the Sun and
ride the wings of Hawk filled
skies to the land that time
can’t harm

And when my eyes flutter open
from the night’s deep slumber,
I know that I have touched
my past, present and future,
all in one night’s dream…

Symphony

Symphony

Life is like a symphony,
the world an ever changing song

Listen not only with ears
but with an open heart,
basking in the glory of it all

Simple pleasures can bring
such joy – from a hummingbird’s
twittering as it seeks nectar
to the lonely sound of a train going by

I suppose we all look at life differently,
some choose to measure their worth
by monetary value, but at the end
of the road, you can’t take it with you,
what you do carry are memories,
make them count…

Tender Words

Tender Words

Shelter me with arms of love,
safe within your grasp,

Carry me over the stars
with a slow seductive kiss

Touch me with your soul
and let me feel your warmth

Sprinkle love upon my face,
one tiny kiss at a time,

Laugh with me over
simple joys snuggled,
up in bed,

Call me baby, call me hon,
whisper words of nectar sweet

Be with me and me with you,
hand in hand, once more,
Know that I am ever yours,
until my dying breath

One and you, me and thee,
love that lasts eternally

Prayer of a MoonAngel

Prayer of a MoonAngel

May love be the center of your Universe
and light the center of your being

May you find happiness in
your good tidings to others
and may you know peace from within

May you walk your path with
surety and confidence,
without emphasis on selfishness

May you always leave a warm feeling
in the hearts of those around you
and may you ever gather knowledge
from your stumbles

May the key to your happiness
be found in bringing joy to others
and the lock of your heart be open
to those less fortunate

May you know pure bliss from an autumn sky,
joy from a summer rain and contentment
from a love one’s tender touch

Grounding

Grounding

One takes chances
in life, everyday

That's simply called
"living"

Do so with conviction
and belief in yourself

Listen to your instincts,
walk with your head
held high and your
feet planted firmly

Stay grounded, but
never lose sight of
your dreams

You are your own
best friend or
your own worse
enemy, that's
for you to decide

Discovery

Discovery

I'm getting my
feet wet in this
new relationship

Wading ever so
slowly, making
sure not to slip

I'm laughing and
exploring just how
I feel

I want to make
sure his intentions
are real

I'm taking my time,
I don't want to be
contrite

So I'll sleep alone
yet another night

But I'm not
complaining,
no, not al all
It's worth the
wait to make
the right call

Just getting to
know you while
discovering me

That comes with
some patience
and soul searching,
I see

So I shall walk
this path at
my own pace

It's my life,
after all,
not merely
a "race"...

Where's the Sun?

Where's the Sun?

The sky has been
crying for too many
days now - I'm ready
for the sun to shine

I want to watch the
flowers grow as wisteria
and honeysuckle
intertwine

I'm happy enough,
yet in a somber mood,
I must be missing Sol's
rays

To feel his warmth
upon my back
would be one of
my better days

So I'll drudge up
some sunshine
inside of my head

And just sit and
watch it rain
for another day
instead...

Rain Dance

Rain Dance

Taking note of
my senses
as I let the rain
wash over me

At first, a little
annoyance at
being soaked
through and
through

Then, shifting my
attitude, I begin
to dance, slowing
turning, letting the
healing drops of
heaven wash over me
and I've truly never
felt so cleansed

Lifting my face toward
the rain, I smile in
silent wonder of
what so many
never allow themselves
to experience -- a rain
dance

The Fighting One

In thinking of our female soldiers who sometimes seem to go unnoticed or at least not thanked as much as I think they should be, I wrote these words, from what I thought could be the viewpoint of a man, at home, waiting...
The Fighting One

Off the grid,
unknown to most,
he lives his life
in quiet solitude

Each day he walks to
his sacred place to
remember his lost one

His days drift by,
months turn to
years and still
keeps his hope
alive

And on a full
moon's blessed night,
his dream becomes
reality, when tapping
on the windowsill is
no longer only the wind

Opening the door
with gun in hand,
to meet what darkness
holds, he sees in
moonlight's shadowy
glow, his reason for
existence

He wonders if his
eyes deceive, can
he trust them or
is this a ghost of
the night

But when her lips
call out his name
in whispered velvet
softness, he knows,
he knows, at last he
knows, for her eyes
tell the story,
home at last,
the war is over..

She's served her
country faithfully
and for that we
should all be grateful

Weathering The Storms

Weathering The Storms

Do I?
Will I?

Doubt circles,
but hope shines
through and flashes
as brilliant as
the rays of the
sun

Every storm that
passes leaves a
trail of tears yet
through it all,
the knowing that
it will all come
out alright brings
me full circle
to bask in the
glory of the day

Weathering life's
murky waters
allows us to
fully enjoy the clear
running streams
of happiness

The Chance

The Chance

On wings of night,
I take my flight in
velvet-caped surrender

To fly with you
into the dawn
and soar toward
the rising sun

One chance to find the
happiness lost so many
lifetimes ago

Take my hand and
guide me while the
stars surround us and
we settle into our
future

And when we land,
we'll ride the river
of bliss and canoe
down the stream
of happiness to
the land of tomorrow

The Letter

The Letter

My Dearest Mother,

There are things I wished I had said to you and things I wish I'd held back, instead.

Not thinking of your happiness, but rather my reaction to your needs was not only selfish, but completely uncalled for.

Looking back, I realize that your happiness never came first, you always did what was "best" for us.

I'm sorry, Mother, for not thinking forward, for not thinking of you. I love you and I miss you so.

Love,
Your Daughter

Slow Down, Walk

Slow Down, Walk

When in doubt,
take your time
to find out
what he's really
all about

Listen to your heart
and don't settle
for less, that
only leads
to another
"new start"

Slow down, learn
the real man that's
inside, don't just
go along for the ride

For what you must
understand is that
he thinks differently,
he views the world
through a man's eyes,
don't you see?

So you make sure he
deserves to be the one
walking beside you
when the day is done

Poetry Within

Poetry Within

I write notes
to the world,
but mostly
to me

Discovering the person
that I strive to be

Whispered thoughts that
flow like morning
dew

And remember, you
also have poetry
"within you"

Find it...

Forward

Forward
Bottled emotions
never allow one
to close the door,
they simply keep
the wound fresh

Keeping up appearances
is just a false front to a
long lost road, so take the
high ground, cry it out,
talk it out, work it out,
walk it out and move
forward

Letting go is never
an easy feat, if it were,
I suppose we would not
be called human

But moving on
never seemed so
necessary and
hope never looked
as good as it does
when I look in your
eyes, Shadow

Sheltered

Sheltered

You are
the lighthouse
I've long
searched for
through life's
stormy seas,
a guiding light,
my David Star

You are the song
I hear each night,
the owl in my
lover's flight

When your arms
encircle me,
my heart
is put at ease,
you are the wind
beneath my sails,
my life's constant
breeze

In you, I find serenity
and shelter from
the cold, my shy and
tender one, our
story has started
to unfold

Be Better

Be Better

Ever changing,
silent wonder
knowledge that
life will pass you
by if you stand
too still

Be in your life,
make your
star shine brighter,
make your smile
a little sweeter

Touch people with
your kindness
not with spewing
anger

The lessons we
learn as we travel
our path can
make us bitter
or strong

Be the best you,
be the one who
they will fondly
remember
not the one
the wish they
could forget...
v Character is at
times built with
heavy stones
and hard burdens
v But when you
allow your heart
to grow and fill
with goodness
you can't help
but shine...

Feeling the Sting

Feeling the Sting
Life is not proving
to be as expected,
constantly used,
my attitude is
negatively infected

My expectations
are naught after
what I've been
taught

I'll cruise for a
while, just me,
solo style and
live with hope
for someone
worthwhile...

Addi Girl

Addi Girl

Daddy's angel,
arms folded
in prayer, as if she's
looking up at me

She doesn't even know
I'm there, her eyes
just cannot see

I hope someday she
will realize I'm
with her, whenever
she feels a breeze

As I watch her grow,
Miss Happy, ever
wanting to please

I'm watching every day,
I want you all to know
how much you're loved
from heaven's shore,
I'm sorry I had to go

But remember
the love we shared
and all those
memories

Be happy, Addi,
Daddy's with you,
just like wind
blowing through
the trees

Is She the One

Is She the One?

His mind is always working
to make his fantasies real

He wants her touch,
he needs her love,
but isn't sure how to feel

He doesn't know if
her heart is true
or if she is the one

But time will tell
whether their paths will cross
and a new life has begun

If their paths are to cross
and their lives meld as one,
will she bring him eternal bliss,
will he be what's behind her
setting sun...

Unraveled Dreams

Unraveled Dreams

And when
the dream
began to
unravel,
the world
became
more blurred
and the vision
was buried, yet
again

No amount
of questioning
could ever
help me
understand
why one
so full of
old soul could be
so very lost
to me...

Tis not our
time, tis not
our place,
I was simply
mistaken

It Matters

It Matters

All I really
ever wanted
was somebody
that matters,
someone that
I matter to...

If you find that
in life, I think
you've accomplished
quite a feat

So many people
seem to wander
through life
not really caring
about themselves,
much less anyone
else...

How sad that our
society has reached
that state...

I've been taught
to treat people
like you want to
be treated and
I chose to matter,
do you?

Finding Happy

Finding Happy

In endless hopes
and dreams,
I find reality

In the timeless
beauty of the night,
I find tranquility

In the sound
of your voice,
I find calm

In unrequited love,
I choose hope, still

In the breeze of
a warm summer's day,
I find peace

In the babbling of a
clear, running stream,
I let the water
wash over me,
refreshing my soul

Rekindle

Rekindle
Drinking in hope
like one who has
wandered the desert,
lost for uncounted days

I see the sun rise
in your smile and
exhale joy at
your touch

Feeling as if an
old flame, burning
low for eons, has
rekindled and is
burning brighter
than e'er before

This sense of wonder
leaves me breathless
as we ride the waves
Of unbridled passion

Watching the full
moon rise, basking
in it's glimmer, as
the light radiates,
reflecting in your
eyes, while the
subtle glow
dances across
my body

Nothing I
have yet
to experience,
in this lifetime,
compares to the
feeling of being
held safe in the
arms of you,
my one

The Winding Path

The Winding Path

On our life's path,
many times we
may stumble and
even fall but those
are the times
that help us to
realize that the
easy steps don't
always come
without a scar
or two

Don't worry
what others
think, as long
as you know
in your heart
that you are
walking your
path on a true
course, for
no one can
walk it for you,
that is your gift
and even the
most winding
of paths can
reach the
mountains

Embrace who
you want to be,
send forth to
the Universe
your projection
of good and
let the light shine
within

When that happens,
the whole world
will be brighter,
not only for you,
but for those
surrounding you

The Cleansing

The Cleansing

Their time had come
to reunite, full moon
passed, making
all things right

The oils released and
hands did touch,
awakening sadness
known too much

As they joined and
tears did flow, twin
flames surrendered
while sadness let go

In it's place, life
began to sing
of the happy times
each other would
bring

Time past, time now,
time to come and share
as hope filled the empty
that once lived there

The future bright,
the past set free
and the remembered
phrase was:

Welcome to Happy

Mother's Child

Mother's Child

Knowledge,
take hold and
help those to
see that our
land is in dire
need of tender,
loving care

Many of our
children know
not what a
good meal is,
but rather
live on processed
diets that leave
them feeling
sluggish and
in some cases,
severely obese

I speak from
experience of
ignorant bliss
and a case of
working too
much, being
too busy to
establish a
regiment of
exercise and
healthy living
not only for
myself but
my loved ones
as well

May our nex
t generation
and the ones
to come, realize
how important
it is to truly
come back
to the Mother
in more ways
than one

Anticipation

Anticipation
Seductive thoughts
stroll across my mind
like a slow, easy
summer rain

Wanting is second nature,
while anticipation is a
new found friend and
one I have come to
enjoy spending time
with on a daily basis

Lusty thoughts
find their way
into my day like
tiny beams of
light reflecting
my mood, my
inner happy

Lonely is taking
a backseat to
thoughts of
touches and
intimate moments

Finding you
or you finding
me, whatever
the case may be,
has brought me
more smiles
than gold...

Waking Up

Waking Up
Realization is
sometimes like
a fast moving
train, you try to
get out of it's way,
but when it's bearing
down on you, eventually
you have to acknowledge
it's presence

Thank you, God,
for my train
of thought and
helping me to ride it

Happy??

Happy??
It doesn't matter
who you are or
what you do in life

It's how you count
your blessings, toils
and even strife

If you are the sour
grape in life's little
bunch

You're sure to miss
out on happy
times without
so much
as a hunch

So I say to you
when dark
clouds loom,
remember rain
makes the
flowers bloom

Now I may be
living a fantasy
that you think
is just not real

But I'm the one
who's always
smiling, while
frowning is
your "real"

Evil's Son

Evil's Son
He walks by night
yet cannot by day
and wicked spells
he may cast your way

He makes women
want him just
with a smile,
trying to steal
a soul, all the while

His heart is made of
the blackest coal
and bitterness his
one true goal

In your dreams,
he'll dance with you
and make you feel
like a princess true

Shadowed nights are
his finest hours
he'll bring you gifts,
chocolates and flowers

But do not be
be fooled
by this one
for he is evil's
very own son

You may recognize
his evil grin,
he's all manner
of greed and sin

Now that you've
been warned,
please beware,
of the evil one
without a care

Is That You Looking At Me?

Is That You Looking At Me?
I like that look,
that look I see
when you are
looking down
at me

I like the feel
of your lips
tracing mine,
sending shivers
down my spine

I enjoy the words
whispered in my ear,
as you hold me oh
so near

I love the way
your heart
beats faster
when I touch
you there
and the way
my body
trembles when
ecstasy we share

I enjoy your
every move
as our bodies
entwine, welcome
to bliss, it feels
absolutely divine

Perfect World

Perfect World
There was no
childhood illness
to take them
way too young,
a land where
happy was the way
and nursery rhymes
were sung

Child abuse did
not exist and they
never had to be
afraid, their smiles
brought more warmth
to hearts than the
sun had ever made

Now I know
this was just
a dream of my
mortal mind
but I beg you
teach children
no hatred,
rather simply,
how to be kind

If you do this one thing,
I am sure we
will all see
a better world
before us, the way
it really should be

A Woman's Worth

A Woman's Worth
They say we are
impossible to figure out
Man constantly wondering
what we are all about

Sometimes we smile
when they watch us walk
Other times we're sultry,
stubborn and even balk

It's been thousands of years
my male counterparts
but the truth is we are
easy to figure out
we think with our hearts

We believe we must
carry the world on our shoulder
And the more that is put
on us we seem to grow bolder

So I would say to you
oh strong ones, stop trying
to figure us out,
just love us so deep
and trust us, without doubt

Otherwise, my friend, you see
you will end up in complete
and utter misery...

Full Moon's Blessing

Moonlight guide me
straight to him, o'er
that mountain steep

Lead me through that
rocky path to the
valley where he waits

Bathe me in your
calming light
when jitters
make me giddy

Shine me to
his very door and deep
into his heart

Bestow on us
your glowing
strength for
all of our days

Know Me

Know Me

Know me, my
every curve,
each blemish,
scar and flaw

Know me, inside
and out, read my
body language

Know me, the way
that I sigh when you
touch me right there

Know me, my tender
touch, my insistent
reach for you

Know me, from
giggles in the night
to tears of pure joy

Know me, on
misty mornings
and lazy Sunday
afternoons

Know me, in silent
wonder and lost
in music's trance

Know me, as
we sway in
a lover's dance or
just sit silently

Know me, early
Christmas morn
and nights on a
full mooned beach

Know me, heady
from the scent
of you, or by
glowing candle's
light

Know me, in awe
of nature's blessing
s and on a busy
sidewalk

Know me, under
starry skies
and rain swept
afternoons

Know me, when
shadows fall
and autumn winds
chill the air

Know me, sharing
ice cream cones
and kissing
under mistletoe

Know me, with lust
building and passion
spent, content

Know me, as you
have before, so
many eons ago

Know me as I am
and accept my
giving soul

Crashing

Crashing
Together we rode
the waves of lust
and washed up
on the sun warmed
sand of the shores
of contentment

The surf crashing
against our bodies,
lulling us into a
dreamlike world,
where we climbed,
hand in hand,
to the very
mountain's top,
where soul-joined
lovers find pure bliss

Desires

Desires
I want to feel your
lips gently brushing
across my neck,
sending shivers of
delight down my spine
and further still

I want to see your
eyes full of passion
reserved for only me

I want to know
your touch, tender
yet full of yearning,
as you discover
my body's every desire

I want to soar on
the wings of ecstasy
further than either
of us could ever
imagine

I want to feel the
weight of your
body on mine as
you whisper to me
softly in the stillness
of the night...

Shadows

Shadows

Mesmerized by
the memory of
your touch, the
very essence of
you, I find myself
staring blankly
into the starry night

We cast long shadows
against the pale moon
as our bodies
intercepted the
incandescent light
and time stood
still for us once again

Star struck lovers,
we embraced the joy
and wonder of knowing,
joining one with the other

And as the moon rose
higher, the love grew
deeper and the whispers
more intense

What memories are
to be made on a warm
spring day, when the
shadows fall...

Come to me, yet again,
my knight, for I yearn
with a longing of 1000
years...

Once More

Once More

And when my
soul came again
to this hate filled
earth, I wondered
what the purpose
was of this new
rebirth

For years I wandered
as I existed, "living" out
my life, wading through
the good times,
misery and strife

Then one day out of
the blue, an Irish Knight
appeared and suddenly
I remembered "you"
and all doubt disappeared

We were once and are again,
the knight and his lady fare
and stories shall be told of us,
as no other can compare

Happy is our golden rule,
together we shall fly
through jealousy, anger
and envy, away through the
dark night's sky

Into the realm of ecstasy
upon life's golden shore
living out our fairy tale,
together, at last,
once more

Twin Flames

Twin Flames

Stoke the fire,
kindle the passion,
for she has found
her long lost twin flame

Laughter fills the air
with the giddiness
of children and joy
abounds as hope
everlasting shines
through this cloudy day

Let us soar once more
to the place of the gods
where mountains are
indeed moved simply
by a true love's touch

You found me, my Irish knight,
now possess me, as you
once did, so many eons ago,
before we were torn apart
by the jealous ones
who thought love
unattainable

I always knew you
would find me again,
it was just a question
of when...

Welcome to when,
welcome to happy,
welcome to smiles
on a cold wintry day,
welcome to my arms,
welcome to my soul

Thank you for the
safety you wrap me in,
thank you for the way
you make my heart smile
thank you for being...

Lost Ship

Lost Ship

The warm wind
blows gently
this night
as she wanders
down the dunes

Her gown flutters
like a sail, illuminated
by the harvest moon

Night after night,
you can see her
here, her ghostly
presence fills you
with a yearning

Many years have
passed, and still
she waits and
watches the
horizon, longing
for her love,
captain of her
lost ship, her
one

Recipe of Madness

Recipe of Madness

You emptied
my soul into
a cauldron of
sadness, when
you took "you"
away from me

Stirring the pot
like a witches brew,
you added the painful
ingredients:
loneliness
anger
bitterness
and
one broken heart

What a stew
of my life
you have made
and the saddest
thing of all,
I let you do the
"cooking"

Cali's Way

Cali's Way

Morning breaks
as I stretch like
a cat, sleepy-eyed
and yawning, but
ever alive and
thankful for the
"cream of life" -
another day...

Finding Dreamland

Finding Dreamland
Sleep is like
a distant
ship that
I can see
far out on
horizon

As I drift,
the memories
wash me
further and
further from shore

Circling over my head
like gulls, are thoughts
of bygone days, not
sad or angry thoughts,
rather images of my
children scampering
through their busy little lives, innocence
emulating from them
like fireflies in the
night and with the
bobbing of my head,
sleep finds me at last
and I sail away to
dreamland on a raft
of memories, as I say:

"Goodnight, stars and
moon, kiss my children
for me, twinkling love
over them with your
hallow glow"

Total Recall

Total Recall
Total Recall
never quite
brings us to
the realm of
satisfaction
that we seek

Memories replayed
are fond and most
cherished, yet
we have a kind
of emptiness
where that
loved one
held a place
in our heart
of hearts

The secret to
that is in
being ever thankful
of what was
and recognizing how truly
lucky we are
to have had them
ib our lives
for a time

As the Children Play

As the Children Play

Dandelions and red clover
sprinkled in the meadow, fair

Babbling brook, cold and clear,
inches it's way, as a lonely Meadowlar's song
fills the air

Children playing all around,
their laughter such a joyful sound

Fond memories were made today
as we watched the children play

Soul Soaring

Soul Soaring

Soul Soaring can at times
take you where
no man needs to tread

Into the eyes
of the ones who
care not if you're
living or dead

I saw a man
who kills for joy,
his evil made me sick

In my imagination,
I can describe his very being,
hands so big and thick

The relentless one
goes from town to town
on the quest to
track him down

Great Spirit, have
mercy on those
he takes without
making a sound

Sleep

Sleep
Take me to the edge
and set me adrift
on the calming waters of
dreamland's lulling sea

Where I'll rock in
the gentle cradle
of slumber's motion,
swayed by my mother's hand

Let me sleep that peaceful,
childlike rest once more,
known only to the innocents

Sing me to snoozing bliss
with your nature's lullaby
til my eyes are heavy
from the sandman's fairy
sprinkles

And as the moon shines it's light
and the stars faintly twinkle
in the night's sky,
shut down my thoughts,
whirling round in my head
as I toss and turn in my
lonely bed

Rest me, Great Spirit
as only you can, for
I come to you once more
with an outstretched hand

Rock me gentle on your
shoulder as you whisper rain
and I close my eyes to rest
this night, blessed once again

For Love's Sake

For Love's Sake

He worked magic
with his fingers,
a site to behold,
whisper soft moments
reaching to my very soul

Carved out memories
one by one,
we used to sit in
contented silence
whilst we watched
the setting sun

His eyes still speak
of his need for me
but my bruised
heart won't surrender
this time so easily

Sure must be our path
and mutual our goal,
otherwise it isn't love,
simply playing a role

And this time I won't
bend or break, but
I will give my all,
for love's sake

Second chances
are rare but real
so let your walls
down and begin
to feel

The Man Child

The Man Child

I saw a man child
while standing in
line at the store today

Some people looked annoyed
or even the other way,
uncomfortable at everything
he would try to say

When I looked into his eyes,
I saw innocence honest and pure
and now know that angels walk
the Earth, of that you can be sure

You only need to look and listen
to know what I say is true
for I saw it in the man child
today, tell me, would you?

My Wish

My Wish

I want to wash my hair
in the lake again
and feel your wet lips,
soft against my skin

I want you to rock me
as you hold me tight
and have Cheech
and Chong sleep
on me at night

I want to listen to music
on the dock with you
as you gaze out over
the water, the sky so
calm and blue

I want to feel the wind
on my face once more
as we ride off to "anywhere"
the way we did before

I want to watch the sun rise
with you on the dock
and sit there til the day
is through,
never looking at a clock

I want to watch the stars
with you, shooting across the sky
and never again have to wonder
if you don't care for me, or why

I want to wake up slowly
with your arm on me
while you snuggle a little
closer and say quietly:

Good morning, Bean Blossom
