Forever Silent
Forever silent,
to cry no more
never again to suffer
the blame he bestowed
Eternal beauty,
long golden curls,
eyes blue as midnight -
asleep for all time
Harsh words always
spoken, won't be
heard any more -
merciful angels have
carried her home
What grows inside a person
that allows them to abuse
such a precious child?
Stop the abuse.

The Calming
The Calming
As the steam rises,
she closes her eyes,
slipping deeper into oblivion,
submerged in thoughts of
days gone by
Emotions like gnarled, twisted trees,
turning her world upside down
And when the water surrounds her
the calming comes to her, slowly,
deep breathing, candles lit,
music low, her chanting softly
For she reaches deep within herself
to find the light of day and as her
inner strength takes hold
she rises up anew…

Caldron of Hope
Caldron of Hope
Black cat howling
at the full moon,
calling for her mistress
Chants begin in the
midst of the forest
as the wise gather
in ceremony
Spiraling smoke turns
into flame and reflects
in green eyes, full
of ancient wisdom
There are spells to be cast
and work to be done as
the creed is whispered
"help all, harm none"
And as the circle is formed
townspeople cry out, not
knowing what will unfold
- tis a shame and disgrace
for the human race what
happened there on that night
For the caldron of hope
was lost to the forest when
good was perceived as evil

The Politician
The Politician
Lip service to the masses,
he makes his promises known -
that he may keep them
is a chapter not yet written
When all faith is lost
and the crowds want blood,
it will take more than
a one man show to stop
the ever growing vines
of bitterness and hate
He must gather in the folds,
push light into the forefront
as we ready for confrontation,
determined to win back the right
to define freedom and justice,
for all

Lifeplay
Lifeplay
We all know life holds no guarantees,
nothing is set in stone
But I believe as your path turns
you come into your own
It's not certain that the sun will shine
or that the rain will pour
However, I know you'll never get "there"
unless you walk out that door
Succeeding comes from trying,
not from sitting still
So, chin up, old girl, and remember
life isn't always about how we feel
It's more a case of give and take
and helping along the way
Seek and find the important things
as you face yourself each day

Cold Waters Run Deep
Heartbreak is second nature
yet she plunges in again -
cold waters run deep
as she spurts forth
her reckless words
slung out like nets,
they sink, unclaimed
and ignored
She tries her hardest
to capture a heart, so
desperate for love -
if only she believed
three simple words:
first, love thyself
When you accept that,
everything else falls into place
like a new day's dawn;
full of hope and radiance
