Heart’s Desire
I want to count
the stars with you;
I want to ride the moon

A lazy day by the lake,
no, wait, the entire
month of June

I want to cheer my
team with you
on a chilly autumn day

Touch you as we
dance real close,
just an easy
intimate “sway”

I want to roast
marshmallows
on an open fire

And kiss you
for the rest of
my life, yes,
that is my
heart’s desire
