Regret
The distance between us
is vast, as though you
are a million miles
away, yet you stand
in the next room
In my mind, I search
for answers and the ones
I find only add to my
gloom
Your lovely face
silhouetted
in the dim light
show streaks of your
silent tears
I wonder now what
I've been thinking,
not caring enough,
all these years
Can I turn back the
clock to then and
make amends to you?
Or will you really
walk away and start
your life anew?
I feel regret deep
in my heart as I walk
toward you, wondering
if you'll wait
But then I see the cab
drive up and realize
"I woke up" years
too late...
