Seawash

Seawash

Drenched in an unshakeable coat,
wings flailing as they move to
rid themselves of man's mistakes

Sand forever soiled by the
greed of many makes
a pitiful sight to behold
and though a part of us
yearns to turn our heads,
our hearts cry out,
as we watch the horror
of a seawash's demise

Dreams washed away
with the tide
as millions look on
with mixed feelings of
anger and despair

Even our children's children
will know the sting from
this corporate scorpion

For the seawash will never
feel the same as we walk the beach
wanting only sand between our toes

Mother Earth, we feel your pain, as
yet another burden is placed upon
your laden shoulders
