Taken
Passion engulfs me
as I stagger backward,
weak kneed and trembling

Acknowledgement of playing with
fire is tossed by the wayside,
given over to senses, dulled by
yearning, as lips of hunger
ravish me, leaving me breathless

Embers long thought lost
to wind and time, ignite
as kindred spirits
come together with
the force of a hurricane
and the need of a thousand
wandering the earth alone...
